traversing directories with exclusion patterns

Hi All,
I'm using ANB 5.3.12 on RHEL4. I've set up an exclusion pattern so that
my backup jobs don't backup the snapshots on my netapp. When I was
viewing a running backup recently, I saw that Arkeia was traversing the
.snapshots directory, but not backing anything up. I expected that
Arkeia would not traverse the matching portion of a directory tree that
matched the exclusion pattern. Could someone tell me which behavior is
correct for Arkeia?
